What I Wore: Oxblood Cape and Plaid Midi Skirt

And this cape is a DIY! I did that! lol Get the details after the jump

Quick confession... I dabble in sewing. Not very much mostly because I just don't have the patience but I have a lil skill when I try. (thanks Graney!) Well this cape is a product of my work. I got in the sewing mood over a year ago when I was looking to add a popping ox blood piece and since capes were making a comeback I decided to give it a go. I found a value pattern at Walmart for less than $5 and got the fabric at Jo-Anns. I finished this piece probably early 2014 and just decided to style it... Smh Especially since its kind poppin and the weather is perfect lol Anyway I guess it was worth the wait. The rest of the look, completely thrifted. But you knew that lol Entire look under $40 including fabric for the cape!

Top and Skirt: Thrifted
Cape: DIY by me!
Shoes: Steve Madden via Poshmark!

What pieces have you DIYd or thinking of attempting? Let me know in the comments!

  1. You definitely did that!!! This whole outfit is on point!

I recently DIY'd a sleeveless coat. I just cut the sleeves off of an old coat and stitched the area back up.
